The motivating factor that founded CM is Michael's on-going love affair with the movies that began as a teenager while slumped down in his seat, frozen in terror, as he watched the film "Jaws" unfold before his partially open eyes, on the tantalizing silver screen. He has built a reputation amongst his colleagues in the entertainment business as being a very efficient producer that stretches the dollar as far as it can go by squeezing as much production value out of the available budget. As a filmmaker, after often spending millions on a production, it's painful to realize that people often view your work for the first time on a relatively small monitor with only stereo sound. With his productions, Michael always emphasizes "putting the majority of the budget up on the screen", where it will be actually seen by the audience. A solid script and cast, good art direction, set design with cutting edge effects and musical scoring are always key elements in his productions. The audience does not care, nor see, portions of a film budget that is spent on four-star hotels for the cast, or gourmet catered food for the crew. Michael brings this same cost-efficient production philosophy to the design process and the wonderfully imaginative cinema environments that are created by CM. The complete process of design have to be thoroughly enjoyable for the client and myself with the end product resulting in a breathtaking atmosphere for any CM project to be labeled a success.
